By this post I finish the year 2015 and also wish happy New year 2016 🙂 This week I photographed a wonderful family with two kids. It is easy to guess that the theme was Christmas and New Year 🙂 The photoset has been planned to take place a week earlier, but the oldest child was unwell, so we moved our session to the new year’s week.
I’m glad that this family wanted to arrange a Christmas family photoset not in a studio, but at home… Because in the studio all is elien: Christmas tree, Christmas decorations, interior and walls. And at home – all native 🙂 May be, in the studio it can be a little (or a lot) more beautiful than at home… but this raises the philosophical question – “what kind of pictures you need to get as a result of the family photo shoot”? Pictures of “real life and celebration” or photos of “imitations of life and celebration”? I am okay with all Studio photo shoots (including family), but only when it is really reasonable and necessary 🙂 But, for me, photo “at someone else’s Christmas tree” – is like photo “at someone else’s car” 🙂
Sorry, I distracted from the heroes of the set 🙂
We discussed the format of the session. Our photography format, mostly, was the story and reportage. To not very much to distract the family, I asked them to do something that would be more interesting and attractive than “newcomer man with big black camera” 🙂 the First thing that came to mind is Christmas tree decoration. They liked this idea, and agreed not to decorate their Christmas tree before the photosession.
Here’s some photos.
